Support these three amendments to the Virginia state Constitution that the Virginia Senate Privileges and Elections Committee (PE) is expected to take up on TUESDAY, JAN. 14.
Our League leadership strongly supports three proposed amendments:
1) Bill SJ1.
2) Bill SJ2.
Guarantees that people who have been disenfranchised due to a felony conviction will have their rights automatically restored upon completion of their sentences, without additional steps or paperwork after they are no longer incarcerated, and to ensure people with disabilities never lose their rights without an appropriate judicial finding.
