Board members Will

• Attend. Attend state and regional League meetings.
• Contribute. Make personal financial contributions, in addition to dues.
• Diversity. Promote growth and diversity in membership.
• Fundraise. Assist in fundraising activities.
• Meetings. Attend and participate in all board meetings.
• Mentor. Identify and mentor new leaders.
• Nonpartisan. Understand and abide by the League’s nonpartisan policy.
• Perform. Carry out individual assignments.
• Promote. Explain and promote the League in the community.
• Support. Support and attend League activities.
• Understand. Become knowledgeable about League positions and practices.

Background for Board

1. Board elected and appointed as of 7/30/2023 -- Board members FY2022-2023
   (note: some positions may have changed since 7/30/2023)
2. Board can consist of 4 to 18 members. Per bylaws these are:
   • Officers (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) who are elected for 2-yr. terms by the League Membership at the Annual Meeting. There are only four Officers.
     
   • Elected Directors who are elected for 2-yr. terms by the League Membership at the Annual Meeting. There can be 0-to-8 Elected Directors.
     
   • Appointed Directors who are appointed for 1-yr. terms by the Board. There can be zero-to-6 Appointed Directors.
   • Meetings and Quorum: Must hold 9 regular meetings annually. A quorum is majority of the Board

Working with Committees

Board and the Budget Committee

• The Board appoints Budget Committee at least two months prior to the Annual Meeting.
• The Treasurer is not eligible to serve as Chairman of the Budget Committe

Board and the Nominating Committee

• The Board appoints two of its own members to the Committee immediately following the Annual Meeting.
• The President cannot serve on Nominating Committee in any capacity.

Board and the Bylaws

At least every two years the Board shall appoint a Bylaws Review Committee which shall consist of both Board and non-Board members.

LWV/ClubExpress Roundtables

Free & Online

If you are not using the LWV-ClubExpress (LWV-CE) Roundtable resource, join the Rountables and investigate.

• Although the emphasis of Roundtables is on leveraging ClubExpress, you will also pick up ideas and tips about running a successful League
  
• LWV-CE Roundtable Group membership is free to all LWV members
• Meetings are all online
• League members from all over the country attend
• A session may have from 5 to 20 (or more) attendees
• There is always a leader for the session and the leaders pay STRICT attention to the clock! (So meetings don't run over!)
