About the Annual Meeting

Per LWV-WA Bylaws (Amended 2023)

Date & Quorum

• Held annually in 4th quarter of the League's fiscal year
• Quorum is 10% of League members in good standing

Duties of the Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting must include these aspects:

• Treasurer Report 
• Budget Committee Report and a vote to adopt the Report's proposed budget
  • Proposed Budget must be sent ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE OF THE ANNUAL MEETING AND IN WRITING to League membership
• Nominating Committee Report and a vote to elect Officers and Directors as proposed in the Report
  • Proposed slate must be sent ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE OF THE ANNUAL MEETING AND IN WRITING to League membership
• Bylaws Changes (if any)
  • 2/3 of voting members present at the Annual Meeting must approve changes
  • Proposed bylaws changes must be submitted ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE OF THE ANNUAL MEETING AND IN WRITING to League membership
• Program: Must adopt a local program for ensuing year (Article IX bylaws)
  • Majority of vote at Annual Meeting required to adopt the LWV-WA program
  • Board must send out a proposed program ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE OF THE ANNUAL MEETING AND IN WRITING to League membership
